A Polished & Polite Mission
Polished & Polite LLC is a registered business in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. Its founder and principal is Shereen Gillings who also operates as a Sole Proprietor in Jamaica. Shereen is an ambitious, poised, and determined Jamaican native who loves people. She's on a mission to make the world a little (or a lot) more Polished & Polite through her books, coaching and her podcast. The offerings are intended for persons over 16 years of age.
The Polished & Polite Mission is to: Inform, promote and normalize common courtesies, social graces, decency, civility, respect for self and others across age, gender, race, nationality and social status with a view to strengthen families, build communities, and champion a culture of well-rounded global citizens.
What Polished & Polite LLC Is:
Contrary to what some believe, etiquette is about putting others at ease in whatever capacity or context. Therefore, it's important to dismiss any ideation of etiquette training as snobbish or elitist. In a world filled with vulgarity, coarseness, poor manners, unprofessionalism and selfishness - the offerings here are meant to teach and promote the very opposite of the aforementioned.

- Yes, I'm a Jamaican, an "Irie" country girl with a global outlook. Born and raised in the land of wood and water, sun and sea, reggae and Bob Marley....has a nice ring to it - wouldn't you agree? My time is spent between the United States and Jamaica.

I think the core of my message crosses cultural and demographic limits - it has universal relevance and appeal i.e courtesy, respect for self and others, ambition, success, decency and accountability.

- My work history is people centered. My professional career started with the Government of Jamaica at the National Youth Service as a Receptionist then Program Coordinator.
- I worked in the formal banking sector primarily in retail banking for about a decade.
- I'm a former radio host/news presenter having had formal training in Voice & Speec
